About

I am Brandon Berman, a seasoned multimedia professional with a diverse background. I recently founded and managed an online tutoring company, specializing in one-on-one instruction via Zoom for video editing and effects software. My passion lies in captivating video and film projects, particularly those centered around martial arts or other topics that spark my interest.

Currently, I am working on the release of vignettes for a documentary titled "Haba Na Haba ." This project, which started 12 years ago, showcases the adventure of eight Americans who aimed to share video-making techniques and skills with students in Kenyan schools. This project is close to my heart and is currently being released a little at a time.

Prior to my entrepreneurial pursuits, I served as the Director of the Multimedia Graphic Design Department at Front Range Community College. During my tenure, I spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives, including the establishment of the first Colorado iTunes U site in partnership with Apple. Additionally, I organized a highly successful annual Student Film Festival, providing a platform for our talented students to showcase their work.

Throughout my career, I have been at the forefront of emerging technologies, delivering captivating presentations that educate and raise awareness. I have also developed an immersive course, accepted by the State of Colorado, that simulated a real-world production house. This course resulted in the creation of four full-length documentaries, which received acclaim through screenings on PBS, appearances at film festivals and theaters, and induction into the Library of Congress. Notably, our first documentary focused on women's roles in combat and combat support in the military, serving as a historical resource for public high schools in Colorado.

As a skilled leader, I have successfully managed teams of instructors and technicians, overseeing both online and classroom courses. I have also provided internal training to faculty, staff, and work-study students, sharing my expertise in various areas such as editing, animation, motion graphics, special effects, podcasting, and documentary filmmaking.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I proudly served as a board member for Technology Partnership, a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering digital literacy and connections between students in Kenya and the USA. Through fundraising efforts, we have equipped Kenyan students with essential video equipment and computers. Additionally, I led a transformative educational trip to Kenya, where we taught and presented videography, multimedia, and nursing to students of all levels. The impact of this initiative was remarkable, with high school girls creating a documentary for the people of Colorado, and university students pursuing digital design careers while maintaining meaningful friendships. Throughout my career, I have received numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Faculty of the Year award in 2008 and the Master Teacher Award in 2006-7. I have also been recognized with prestigious honors such as the Best Large District Website award from the Special District Association and the Student Achievement: Long Form Non-Fiction award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Science Heartland Emmy Awards.

Sharing knowledge is a passion of mine, and I have taught at esteemed institutions such as the University of Colorado, Red Rocks Community College, Kenya Methodist Unversity, Meru Technical College, and the Colorado Free University.

To augment my experience, I hold an associate's degree in Multimedia Technology and certifications in Graphics and Animation. Additionally, I have pursued advanced education, obtaining a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Communication.
